Pathways High School is the new arm of Grandville Public Schools designed to meet the needs of 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students who are credit deficient and in danger of not graduating from high school. Grandville Pathways High School provides a quality online educational option for those students desiring a smaller, more personalized approach to teaching and learning. Pathways High school is an opportunity for students to pursue a successful educational experience in an environment suited to the needs of the student.
Grandville Pathways High School is a school of choice for students who desire an educational experience suited to the particular needs of the student and their family. Class enrollment is based on the philosophy that education can occur “anytime and anyplace." Pathways provides accessible staff that is responsive to both students and parents and encourages student success. Grandville Pathways High School offers: High School Diploma, opportunities to explore athletic pursuits, and extracurricular clubs and activities at Grandville High School. Pathways High School will meet in the classroom space at the Visser YMCA in Grandville.
Open Enrollment for 10th through 12th grade students: Grandville Pathways High School will accept open enrollments from families interested in the online school option during the following windows for the 2017-18 school year: August 1, 2017 to October 1, 2017 and January 1, 2018 to February 1, 2018. School of choice students must fulfill Grandville Public Schools enrollment process before applying for Pathways High School. Current GHS students and families interested in enrolling in the online school program should first meet with their school counselor. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the online school option and determine if Pathways High School would be a proper fit for the educational needs of the student and family. Students and families applying outside of the dates listed above may still apply for enrollment at any time. Once accepted into the online school program, classes will begin at the start of the next semester.
Mrs. Erika Brown will serve as the school counselor and will work with students on their Educational Development Plan. Mr. Ryan Gritter will be the primary teacher for all students. His experience working with, and his ability to make genuine connections with, credit-deficient students makes him a perfect fit for this school.
